Nelson, my 12 year old labrador received Bowen Therapy from Virginia. I was very impressed with her level of professionalism and would recommend her without reservation.
She was very thorough and at the outset made a detailed written case history in relation to Nelson's general health and behaviour. This included any allergies, medications and diet. The therapy she would be using was explained and photos/video of Nelson were taken.
Her focus was Nelson and she was always looking for any reactions. If possible, Virginia prefers to see dogs in their own homes where they are most at ease. Her quiet calm manner, together with soothing music, soon created a restful atmosphere - for owner as well as 'client'.
At the time of Nelson's first treatment he was quite sore in his right shoulder and reluctant to weight bare. He is on medication (pentosan injections 3 monthly and green lipped mussel powder/abalone powder/shark cartilage daily) for arthritis, and is often slow to get up after resting but, this was much more severe. Virginia began the Bowen treatment and Nelson was relaxed and unconcerned. However, as she continued on and executed a movement over his shoulder he flinched and turned around to look. His first reaction. Virginia explained that this was of the one of a number of trigger points and that she would proceed and see if he showed any reaction at the corresponding joint in the other foreleg - he didn't. At the completion of his treatment, his gait was almost normal - just the slightest limp. It was gone the next morning and has not reoccurred. Amazing!

Rocky, a rescue adult dalmation was malnourished and in poor condition when rescued two years ago.
Virginia treated Rocky with canine massage on a number of occasions. Virginia relates so well with dogs and I always found her approach professional and reassuring to Rocky. Rocky was very relaxed with Virginia and responded positively to the techniques she used.
